Michael Moore’s Sicko
Oh my. Have you seen Moore’s Sicko, yet? It’s out on DVD now. You’ve got to see this. I could care less about the ideological groans Moore invites. Save them for the treehouse. Don’t see it for Moore’s prescriptions or conclusions. Don’t avoid it just because you loathe Michael Moore. Use it as an exercise.
See it as an exercise in trying to sort out an ecclesiocentric culture. See it as an exercise in perceiving things from a different angle. See it to try to sort through the question of American identity. Even if you hate the whole thing, you’ll have to move to a different level of conservatism to answer it. Honestly, only the simplistic will dismiss it easily. The structure of the argument is fascinating, even if you don’t buy any of it.
“Who are we?” That is the key question.
Sicko (2007) directed by Michael Moore, PG-13, Netflix or Amazon or Available Online (Turkish subtitles).
Be sure to watch the Special Features on the DVD, too.
